What can we expect from the next James Bond movie?

Although the next James Bond film won’t be released until late 2019, there has already been plenty of speculation emerging about what could feature in the 25th instalment of this popular spy franchise.

For a long time, there was an endless succession of actors who were being lined up to be the next 007. But it looks like Daniel Craig is backing down on his previous resistance to the role, and will be returning to play the British spy.

There are plenty of interesting rumours about who could be joining him in the next Bond movie too. So far it seems that Craig has stated that Monica Bellucci should be the leading lady in the film, and whilst Christopher Waltz has denied that he will be appearing in the next 007 caper, we can expect to see plenty more stars who are eager to become part of Bond folklore.

It’s not just the choice of actors that’s getting people speculating, as there is a lot of talk about who will be in the director’s chair too. Sam Mendes has ruled himself out after successfully rebooting the Bond franchise with the Spectre and Skyfall movies, and although Dennis Villeneuve was a front-runner, he has had to decline the opportunity due to his ongoing work with the upcoming Dune film.

In terms of what we can expect from the plot of the 25th Bond movie, it’s still hard to sort out rumours from concrete facts. There have been reports that we might see 007 retiring from MI6 and instead settling down into happily married life.

Producer Barbara Broccoli has teased an announcement by the new year.

However, that won’t make for much of a movie, and so we can hopefully expect to see plenty more action-packed car chases, weird and wonderful gadgets, and some of those casino games that helped to make the Casino Royale film such a massive hit.

Casino Royale introduced us to Daniel Craig as James Bond, and whilst it can give us some inspiration for some of the casino promotions at InterCasino, it’s clear that studio bosses will want to give us something new from the Bond franchise.

Whilst the Star Wars universe has been given plenty of new life in recent years, the 007 series is in danger of becoming a parody of itself.

And so it’s going to be fascinating to see how the writers, Neal Purvis and Robert Wade, can deliver a script that pays homage to the Bond trademarks of casino games and fast cars without getting boring.

What do you want to see in the next James Bond movie?
