Blade Runner Black Out 2022 is a new anime short film from the director of Cowboy Bebop
Shinichiro Watanabe (Cowboy Bebop, Samurai Champloo) is directing a short Blade Runner anime. There have been a couple of live-action short films starring Jared Leto and Dave Bautista for Blade Runner 2049.
The anime short is called Blade Runner Black Out 2022 and place a few years after the first movie.
Blade Runner 2049 stars Ryan Gosling, Harrison Ford, Dave Bautista, Ana de Armas, David Dastmalchian, Hiam Abbass, Jared Leto and Robin Wright. It is directed by Denis Villeneuve (Sicario, Prisoners).
Thirty years after the events of the first film, a new Blade Runner, LAPD Officer K (Ryan Gosling), unearths a long-buried secret that has the potential to plunge what’s left of society into chaos. K’s discovery leads him on a quest to find Rick Deckard (Harrison Ford), a former LAPD Blade Runner who has been missing for 30 years.
The film is written by Hampton Fancher and Michael Green, and succeeds the initial story by Fancher and David Peoples based on Philip K. Dick’s novel Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep.
