Joe and Anthony Russo directed a couple of little films – Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Captain America: Civil War. They are also working on the Infinity War movies.

While being very busy in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, The Russo Brothers are also working on a new TV project. A new one-hour drama with Paramount TV and Hulu.

It is going to be an adaptation of The Warriors. That’s the 1979 American action thriller film directed by Walter Hill and based on Sol Yurick’s 1965 novel of the same name.

A turf battle between New York City street gangs that rages from Coney Island to the Bronx. The Warriors are mistakenly fingered for the killing of a gang leader. Soon they have every gang in the city out to get revenge and they must make their way across the city to their own turf.

According to Deadline, the new version will honour the original film while adding its own unique brand of grit, pulp, sex and violence. The Russo brothers will team with writer Frank Baldwin on the series. There is no director attached yet.

A huge amount of potential for great TV. I look forward to finding out more.
