The Northman – Nicole Kidman, Alexander Skarsgård, Anya Taylor-Joy join Robert Egger’s new Viking movie

Robert Eggers’ (The Witch, The Lighthouse) next film is called The Northman.

According to Variety, the film is a Viking revenge saga set in Iceland at the turn of the 10th century.

Nicole Kidman and Alexander Skarsgård have been cast in lead roles. Anya Taylor-Joy (The Witch), Bill Skarsgård and Willem Dafoe are also in talks to join the film.

One of the great things about his previous films, is the way Eggers makes the surroundings almost another character in the film so this new film should look gorgeous.

Eggers will direct the film from a script he co-wrote with Icelandic poet and novelist Sjón.

“Midsummer” producer Lars Knudsen will produce, with New Regency financing.
