Vin Diesel confirms the script for Riddick 4: Furya is complete

“Everyone wants to be a beast until it’s time to do what real beasts do.”

Pitch Black in 2000 introduced us to Vin Diesel’s Riddick. A cool anti-hero in a decent little sci-fi horror thriller. Then there was 2004’s The Chronicles of Riddick. A huge piece of universe building that didn’t quite work. Personally, I quite enjoyed it but can see its problems.

The last time we saw the character was in 2013’s Riddick that went back to basics and rehashed the basic premise of Pitch Black once more.

Now Vin Diesel has shared a video (below) that shows a completed script for Riddick 4: Furya by David Twohy, who previously wrote and directed the previous instalments.

Furya is a dead world in the Furyan System, once the homeworld of the Furyans, a thriving spiritual warrior race. In one genocidal wave, the Necromonger Empire culled an entire generation of Furyans.

The planet has an eccentric orbit that makes it difficult to chart. It is also considered cursed. For these reasons, the planet is rarely visited.

I am always up for more Riddick and would like to see at least one more movie that combines the action and thrills of Pitch Black but mixes in some of the grand scope of The Chronicles of Riddick.

If the fourth film should ever get made, what would you like to see in it?
