– It looks like Rick Moranis will be returning to the role of Dark Helmet from Spaceballs. It will be for an episode of The Goldbergs. According to USA Today, the actor will provide the voice of Dark Helmet – Moranis voices the character in one of young film enthusiast Adam Goldberg’s dreams, as Adam (Sean Giambrone) “encounters Dark Helmet storming his bedroom to battle with the Schwartz,” a play on Star Wars’ The Force, according to a description. Adam “promises to get a sequel to Spaceballs produced before waking up.”

– Just two weeks into its fifth season, The CW has renewed The 100 for a sixth season.

– Warner Bros. Pictures has officially set the Sherlock Holmes 3 release date for 25th December 2020. Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law will return as Sherlock Holmes and John Watson, respectively.

– Sony has announced its intent to make a sequel to Peter Rabbit, which is set for release in 2020. Will Gluck, who directed the first pic, will return to write and direct the follow-up – THR

– Evan Spiliotopoulos (Beauty and the Beast, The Huntsman: Winter’s War, Hercules) has been picked to write the sequel for Netflix‘s Bright. Will Smith and Joel Edgerton are expected to reprise their roles in the Bright sequel as Daryl Ward and Nick Jakoby.

– Millennium Films is lining up a sequel to the 2017 filmThe Hitman’s Bodyguard. Titled The Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard. While no script is yet available, The Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard is described in the Cannes market catalogue as “The Good. The Bad. And the Batsh!t cray.” Ryan Reynolds and Samuel L. Jackson are believed to be reprising their roles, although the casting hasn’t been confirmed, while Patrick Hughes is thought to be returning to direct – THR
