Aardman is working on a Chicken Run sequel

Chicken Run is 18 years old and is one of the most successful stop-motion animated movies of all time. Aardman is now moving ahead with a sequel with StudioCanal and Pathé.

According to THR, Sam Fell (ParaNorman, Flushed Away) is attached to direct, with Paul Kewley (Shaun the Sheep Movie) producing. Original writers Karey Kirkpatrick (Over the Hedge, Smurfs 2, The Spiderwick Chronicles) and John O’Farrell are writing the screenplay. Aardman’s co-founders Peter Lord and David Sproxton are executive producing.

There is no word on the plot at the moment, but I am sure those chickens are up to something!

Chicken Run 2 is thought to be going into production at Aardman’s studio in Bristol after it wraps on Shaun the Sheep Movie Farmageddon.
