Steven Spielberg has said Indiana Jones 5 is due to begin filming next year

There had been talk of it, but now director Steven Spielberg has said that the fifth Indiana Jones film will begin filming in April 2019 here in the UK.

Speaking at last night’s Empire awards, Spielberg said that “it’s always worth the trip when I get to work with this deep bench of talent coming out of the UK. The actors, and the crew, the chippies, the sparks, the drivers — everybody who has helped me make my movies here, and will continue helping me make my movies here when I come back in April 2019 to make the fifth Indiana Jones movie right here.”

The film, which as yet does not have a full title, is due out on 20th July 2020.

Harrison Ford is returning along with franchise producers Kathleen Kennedy and Frank Marshal. The screenplay is written by David Koepp but there is no word yet as to what the plot will involve.

What do you want to see in a new Indiana Jones movie? Do you want a new one or would you prefer they recast the character?

I just want it to be better than the Crystal Skull one!
