Don Mancini and David Kirschner are working on a Child’s Play TV show
Do you want more Chucky? If you do then it looks like you will be getting so much more of your favourite psycho-doll!
The original film turns 30 this year. Don Mancini, who wrote the first film, directed Seed of Chucky, Curse of Chucky, and last year’s Cult of Chucky.
That last film saw events take place in an insane asylum and did leave it open for the story to continue. Mancini has confirmed to Bloody Disgusting that he and franchise producer David Kirschner are currently developing a Child’s Play television series.
Mancini said that the show was “deliberately set up at end of the last movie,” and that the “tone is dark and disturbing.”
“We plan to use Child’s Play in the title,” Mancini explained. “We want to definitely signal that we are going dark, darker than ever before. It’s going to be very creepy.”
He also confirmed that Brad Dourif would be voicing Chucky once more in the 8-part, hourlong series.
