Danny McBride talks about the plot for the new Halloween movie
Blumhouse has already confirmed Jamie Lee Curtis will return to the Halloween series to play Laurie Strode.
David Gordon Green (Pineapple Express, Your Highness) will direct Halloween and co-write the script for the film with Danny McBride (Alien: Covenant).
McBride recently spoke to Yahoo about the film and how they are basically ignoring everything that happened after the first film and the fact it will definitely be a horror movie.
I just hope that we don’t f*** it up and piss people off. This is such a diehard fan base. You don’t want horror fans being your enemies because they show up at your house with masks on. We are diehard fans of Halloween. We’re watching all the sequels and where things have taken left turns here and there that maybe bites for fans, and at least trying to deliver what we would have wanted to see. Hopefully, that will line up with most fans.
I think you should be very scared. I mean, this isn’t a comedy at all. I think there was, like, maybe one joke on the page, but the rest is straight horror,” McBride says. “So hopefully it gets in people’s heads and keeps them up late at night.
Judy Greer (Ant-Man, Archer, Jurassic World) is in negotiations to join the film in the role of Laurie’s daughter, according to Deadline.
Jason Blum recently talked about the film and John Carpenter’s involvement.
I am going to be cautiously optimistic about this one due to the John Carpenter and Jamie Lee Curtis being involved.
